Sizing and Shelf Depth
Each Labubu figure is 18 × 16 × 10 cm — compact enough for most standard shelves but substantial enough to hold its own among books. You'll want at least 25 cm of depth in the shelf to let the figure sit fully forward without overhanging. Most IKEA KALLAX and Billy units have enough depth; very shallow floating shelves may not.
Height clearance matters too. The figure is 18 cm tall — on a shelf with 20 cm between levels, it fits but barely. If you have a shelf section with 25+ cm of clearance, that's where to place it.
Pairing with Books and Objects
The easiest approach: clear a section of one shelf, place the Labubu centred or slightly off-centre, and frame it with 2-3 books stood upright on either side. Avoid overcrowding — the figure needs breathing room to read as a display piece rather than clutter.
Small plants (succulents, pothos cuttings in a tiny vase) work well alongside the lighter editions like Snow Wing and Angel Bubu. Bolder editions like Duck and Pink Fang hold up better in busier arrangements or next to darker book spines.
Lighting
Bookshelves near a window get natural light during the day — place the figure so it's lit from a slight angle rather than directly from the front (which flattens the detail). If you're adding artificial lighting, a small LED strip at the top shelf edge or a directed puck light creates clean highlights on the hand-finished surface.
The Premium PLA surface picks up highlights well. Snow Wing and Angel Bubu respond best to cooler, whiter light. Duck and Pink Fang look great under warmer light that brings out their personality.
Single vs. Multi-Figure Displays
One figure on its own shelf section makes a clear statement. Two figures — especially contrasting editions — turn a shelf into a small collection. Three figures from the full lineup (Duck + Snow Wing + Pink Fang) fill a standard 80 cm shelf section comfortably with room for a few books.
If you have a Duo Bundle, place the two figures with about 8-10 cm of space between them — close enough to read as a pair, far enough that each one reads individually.
