Day-to-Day Maintenance Reality
The honest answer: almost none. Vinyl figures don't require polishing, repositioning, or any active care. You put it where you want it, and it stays. The passive maintenance load is essentially zero.
Dust accumulates on static surfaces — Labubu is not exempt. Fine particulate settles on horizontal surfaces over time and gives the figure a slightly dull appearance. This is the only maintenance most display collectors actually perform.
Frequency needed: every few weeks in normal environments, more often in dusty ones (near windows, in older buildings, in cities with outdoor pollution). The process takes about thirty seconds.
Cleaning Method
Dry microfiber cloth or very soft-bristle paintbrush for routine dust removal. Work gently from top to bottom, getting into the detail areas (ears, face, hands). No cleaning product required for routine dust — the vinyl surface doesn't need any treatment.
For fingerprint marks or light smudges: slightly damp cloth (distilled water or plain water), applied gently, followed by dry cloth to remove moisture. Avoid cleaning products with alcohol, acetone, or citrus solvents — these can affect paint and vinyl surface.
That's it. There's no wax, no UV coating, no humidification requirement. It's a vinyl figure, not a wooden instrument or a sensitive print.
Storage if Needed
If you need to store the figure (moving, redecorating, temporary): the original box is appropriately protective. Keep it in a cool, dry location away from direct sunlight and temperature extremes. Don't store in attics or garages where temperature swings are significant.
For long-term storage: a resealable plastic bag inside the box prevents dust accumulation in the inner tray. Silica gel packets manage humidity if you're in a particularly damp climate.
Practically: most buyers never store their Labubu. They display it, keep it there, and clean it occasionally. The maintenance conversation is shorter than most new buyers expect — it's one of the genuinely low-friction aspects of owning a quality vinyl figure.
