Authentication: Scanning Your Labubu QR Code
Every Labubu produced after 2023 has a QR code — usually on the back of the box or on a tag attached to the figure. Open the Pop Mart app, tap the scan icon, and point it at the QR code. The app returns the product name, series, and a confirmation of authenticity. If the scan fails or returns an error, treat it as a red flag.
A few caveats: older Labubu editions (pre-2022) may predate the QR system and won't scan. Some resellers remove tags, which doesn't automatically mean the figure is fake — but you lose the authentication path. For resale purchases, always ask the seller for photos of the QR code before buying.
Setting Restock Alerts
Navigate to any out-of-stock product page in the app and tap 'Notify Me' or the bell icon. When stock is added, you receive a push notification. The window between notification and sellout for popular figures can be under 10 minutes, so keeping push notifications enabled matters.
You can follow specific product lines (The Monsters, Have a Seat, seasonal editions) separately. Setting alerts across multiple series gives you more opportunities without requiring you to check manually.
The In-App Lottery System
For extremely high-demand drops — certain collaborations, exclusive colorways, and anniversary editions — Pop Mart runs an in-app lottery rather than a first-come first-served sale. You apply during the entry window, and winners are randomly selected and notified.
Lottery entry is free and doesn't guarantee a purchase. If selected, you get a limited-time window to complete the purchase at retail price. Losing a lottery is common — some popular drops have application-to-winner ratios above 50:1. The lottery system is how Pop Mart controls allocation on the highest-demand products.
Buying Directly Through the App
The app's shop section mirrors the website but with mobile-optimized checkout. For US buyers, the app ships from US fulfillment centers, which means faster delivery than ordering from eu.popmart.com. Payment methods accepted include major credit cards and PayPal.
One practical note: app-exclusive drops occasionally appear in the app before the website. If you're serious about catching new releases, having the app installed with notifications on is the most reliable method.
