Labubu Premium PLA: Why Material Quality Matters for Collectibles

The material your Labubu collectible is made from determines its durability, finish quality, and display longevity. Here is why we use Premium PLA and what that means for your figure.

What Is Premium PLA

PLA (Polylactic Acid) is a plant-derived plastic widely used in high-quality 3D printing. Premium PLA has higher purity, better color consistency, and finer detail resolution than standard grades.

Our Premium PLA is non-toxic and meets indoor safety standards — safe for home and office display.

How We Finish PLA Figures

Raw 3D prints show layer lines — the hallmark of the printing process. We post-process every figure manually: sanding to remove layer lines, priming for a smooth base, and finishing for the final display-ready surface.

The result is a figure that does not look 3D printed — it looks cast or mold-produced, with crisp surface quality.

PLA vs. Resin vs. ABS for Collectibles

Resin offers higher detail but is brittle and UV-sensitive without coating. ABS is durable but difficult to finish smoothly. Premium PLA with manual post-processing delivers the best balance of detail, durability, and displayability.

Frequently Asked Questions

Is Premium PLA the same as regular PLA?

No. Premium PLA has higher purity, finer detail resolution, and more consistent color than standard PLA. The difference is visible in the finished surface quality.

Is PLA safe for home display?

Yes. PLA is non-toxic and plant-derived. It is safe for home, office, and bedroom display.

How durable is PLA compared to resin?

PLA is more flexible and impact-resistant than resin. Resin is more brittle and may crack if dropped. PLA is better for display pieces that will be handled.
